Cargomatic Celebrates Women’s History Month: Ellie Tirado

This Women’s History Month, we are sharing the diverse stories, advice, and experiences of our employees and celebrating the amazing women who work at Cargomatic.

Ellie Tirado, Customer Success Manager

On her role at Cargomatic: I am dedicated to supporting my shippers by not only making sure all of their requests are being followed through in a timely manner but also by overseeing different projects and implementing processes where need be.

Why she chose this career: “I am passionate about building relationships and genuinely helping people. As a Customer Success Manager, I have an opportunity to learn and support businesses achieve their goals everyday.”

Who inspires her: “My mother ran her own business while being a single mother back when Venezuela was not a communist country. She gave everything up for her children so that we could have a better life in another country. She sacrificed years without us to protect us and she still managed to get a master’s degree in business and able to help many local businesses grow exponentially with her brilliant mind and work ethic. She inspires me everyday and I always talk to her when I need advice on business or life in general.”

On the importance of Women’s History Month: “In a world where many women are still living under oppression, it is important to celebrate how far Women’s Rights has progressed and also bring attention to the challenges women face everyday. Sexism is still not a thing of the past but this month can be used to educate society on the importance of tolerance and equality.”

On maintaining a work/life balance: “Always allow time for yourself everyday. Whether it’s a nice bath, a walk, dancing by yourself, meditating, a face mask, doing your nails, foot soak, or whatever relaxes you. If you can’t take care of yourself, you can’t effectively take care of other people.”
