Shareca Dorsey, Sr. HR Generalist

What motivated you to join Cargomatic, and how has your journey evolved since then?
What initially drew me to Cargomatic was the prospect of growth and advancement. I joined the company in April 2022 as an HR Generalist, and I was promoted to Senior HR Generalist in October 2023. Throughout my time at Cargomatic, I’ve been afforded the opportunity to delve into various aspects of HR, allowing me to expand my skills and expertise in the field.

How has Cargomatic supported your professional growth and development over the years?
Cargomatic has played a pivotal role in fostering my professional growth and development throughout the years by providing opportunities to explore and master new systems. Notably, I was an integral part of the team tasked with implementing our new HRIS system—an endeavor that proved both rigorous and immensely rewarding from a learning perspective. Additionally, I had the privilege of attending my first SHRM convention, where I had the opportunity to engage and collaborate with HR professionals from across the U.S.

What advice would you give to other women aspiring to advance their careers within Cargomatic or in the logistics industry?
The advice I would offer to other women aspiring to advance their careers within Cargomatic or the logistics industry is to actively volunteer for projects. If you identify areas where processes can be enhanced, don’t hesitate to share your ideas. There are numerous approaches to accomplishing tasks, and your insights might prove valuable to your team or the organization.

Reflecting on your experiences, how do you believe diversity and inclusion have contributed to your success and the success of Cargomatic as a whole?
I credit diversity and inclusion for playing a significant role in my success at Cargomatic. It has enabled me to comprehend and address diverse perspectives and requirements, particularly in my role within HR. Having the opportunity to interact with employees from various backgrounds has broadened my networking capabilities and fostered professional growth within the company. Additionally, Cargomatic fosters a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace environment. This inclusivity has been instrumental in the organization’s growth and sustained success.
